Investor Visa in Vietnam

Investor Visa in Vietnam

Immigration to Vietnam as an entrepreneur comes with many advantages. The first one is the possibility to choose among 4 types of Vietnamese investor visas. The differences between them rely on the minimum capital to inject and the validity of the residence permit issued.

Below, our lawyers in Vietnam explain how the investor visa in Vietnam works and can help you with the application.

The visa for business in Vietnam

The investor residence permit is a visa available for:

  • foreign investors;
  • representatives of foreign companies setting up businesses or contributing with capital to a local enterprise.

Also known as the DT visa, this type of residence permit for Vietnam enables foreign candidates to move here alone or with their families whom they can sponsor.

Our law firm in Vietnam can offer more information about the conditions of the program and about opening a business in Vietnam.

Types of investor visas in Vietnam

As mentioned earlier there are no less than 4 categories of Vietnamese investor visas, namely:

  • the DT1 visa which can be obtained in exchange for a minimum investment of VND 100 billion;
  • the DT2 visa which is available for a minimum contribution of less than VND 100 billion;
  • the DT3 visa which can be issued if the investor injects less than VND 50 billion;
  • the DT4 visa which requires the lowest investment amount – below VND 3 billion.

We remind you that the amount invested is proportional to the validity period of the visa for business you will obtain in Vietnam. Specifically:

  • the DT1 and DT2 visas have a validity period of 5 years;
  • the DT3 visa has a validity of 3 years;
  • the DT4 visa validity is one year.

Each of them comes with additional requirements, for example, conditions to invest in certain industries that favor economic development. Our Vietnamese lawyers can offer detailed information on all these requisites as they are important and can easy your decision-making process.
