How to move to Vietnam and obtain temporary residency

How to get permanent residence in Vietnam

There are 4 situations under which foreigners are considered for permanent residency in Vietnam:

  • those who have made significant contributions to the country’s development and protection and have received medals or titles from the government;
  • scientists or experts staying temporarily in Vietnam;
  • any foreigner sponsored by his parent, spouse, or child who is a Vietnamese citizen and has a permanent residence in Vietnam;
  • any foreigner who has lived sufficiently in Vietnam under a temporary residence permit.

How to get residency through family reunion
